Embers spark fire in Fulton

The Fulton Fire Department reporting a residential structure fire as crews responded Saturday night at approximately 11:34 p.m., to the 500 block of Jefferson Street.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a large two-story residence with no visible fire conditions from the exterior. During further investigation, smoke was discovered in the basement. Firefighters initiated an interior fire attack and were able to bring the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

Fire damage was limited to the floor area near a fireplace with the cause of the fire determined to be hot embers from the fireplace.

No injuries were reported.
