In Highschool Basketball
Despite being hit hard by the flu, Cairo doubled up Community R-6 last night with a varsity basketball sweep. The girls team defeated the Lady Trojans, 71-26, as Olivia Cross led four Lady Bearcats in double digits with 19 points. Eva Jaecques and Chloe Brumley added 11, and Mallori Hankins had 10.
Jocelyn Curtis led Community with 11 points.
The boys won a 68-52 contest.
Shawn Luecke for the Bearcats led all scorers with 24 points. Teammates Ethan Snyder added 13 while Dorian Jones had 12.
Cayden Thomas led the Trojans with 19 while KaTavyn Wheeler chipped in 14 points
