Winter Weather Update

Much of Mid-Missouri is now a Winter Storm Warning, which starts early Saturday and lasts through 6 p.m. Sunday. Five-plus inches of snow is expected south of the Missouri River with up to 8 inches or more of snow possible, with extreme cold also in the forecast. Snowfall accumulation north of the Missouri River will range from 2″-5″.

Highs across the listening area could very well top out in the single digits Saturday, with wind chills well below zero, prompting an Extreme Cold Watch to also be in effect.

The Missouri Department of Transportation held a drivers meeting via zoom at 2pm today as they try to get a handle on the upcoming storm. MoDOT officials are warning those low temperatures will likely slow down snow-clearing operations, however this is expected to be a light and fluffy snow pack.
