The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office filed a notice of dismissal in Missouri’s 13th circuit court Wednesday, in the case of Keiner Asprilla. He is the 7’1″ basketball player, from a prep school in New Jersey, that had been charged with rape, sodomy and kidnapping. Charges that were filed after a recruiting visit to Mizzou in January 2025.
He allegedly raped an inebriated female.
His trial, which had been postponed to March, was cancelled as well. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said there are no longer any local charges or warrants to hold him.
However, Asprilla, who is from Colombia on a student visa, was transferred to immigration holding center in Springfield. His lawyer expects to have an immigration hearing in Kansas City in the next few weeks.
