The sentencing phase of the trial for 38-year-old Kenneth Lee Simpson, of Hermann, resumed this morning in Franklin County. He was found guilty of the 2023 murder of Hermann police officer Sergeant Mason Griffith.
The jury must be unanimous in returning a life in prison sentence or a death sentence. If they are not, sentencing will fall on the judge in the case.
