Chaim Bloom’s reorganization of the Cardinals’ minor leagues and trading of veterans to restock the system is already paying off.

Baseball America has revealed its annual rankings of all 30 major league teams, and the Cardinals now sit in 2nd place.

That’s their highest ranking since being No. 1 in 2013, and that ranking doesn’t include this week’s windfall from the Brendan Donavon trade, A system that three years ago was deficient in talent is now flush with prospects.

Mizzou women’s basketball junior guard Grace Slaughter has been named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Mid-Season Award Watch List.

Presented by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Slaughter ranks 23rd in the country and fifth in the SEC with 19.3 points per game. She also currently tallies 7.2 rebounds per contest

Slaughter is a native of Grain Valley, Missouri.
