Mexico Public Safety responded to an apartment fire Thursday evening on the 500 block of South Olive Street.
Crews arrived just after 7:15 p.m. and found linens burning inside one of the units.
The fire was quickly put out and caused only minimal damage. Officials say the resident had fallen asleep while smoking, but no injuries were reported.
