A Mexico man has received a suspended 15-year sentence after being convicted of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault.
Authorities say the charges stem from a domestic disturbance last September, when officers responded to reports that Lane M. Miles was trying to force his partner into a vehicle before driving off.
Deputies later located Miles and the victim in the Auxvasse area.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
Under the sentence handed down Monday, Miles will serve supervised probation and avoid jail time unless he violates its terms.
