The Columbia Board of Education has announced two new administrators for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mitchell Pittman will become principal at Beulah Ralph Elementary School, bringing experience as a special education teacher in Sturgeon, and roles in physical education, health, and as an assistant principal at Ridgeway and Blue Ridge Elementary Schools.
John Higgins has been named director of the Columbia Area Career Center, succeeding retiree Brandon Russell.
Higgins, a longtime educator who started in construction tech and spent eight years at CACC, takes the helm as the district reshapes its leadership team.
