Northeast Missouri Students Showcase Career Skills at District Competition


Students from across Northeast Missouri are preparing to showcase their talents as the Northeast District SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference comes to the Davis H. Hart Career Center in Mexico today (Friday).

Carley Ezell, a Graphic Arts Instructor at Mexico High School says the competition gives students the opportunity to demonstrate real-world career and technical skills in front of judges and industry professionals.

SkillsUSA is a national organization that serves students in technical, skilled and service careers, including health occupations. The district competition highlights students’ work in a wide range of categories — from advertising design and graphic arts to architectural drafting and other technical fields.

The Northeast District conference and competition starts at 8am this morning at the Hart Career Center in Mexico and Country 96 will have reports and interviews throughout the day coverage of the event can be heard right here on 95.7FM.
