Jefferson City Police are investigating a violent assault that happened Thursday afternoon on the 200 block of Dover Street.
Officers were called to the scene around 12:10 p.m. and found a woman with serious injuries from what they believe was a knife attack.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but her condition hasn’t been released.
The suspect fled before officers arrived, but police later detained a 33-year-old woman on West Stadium Boulevard about 25 minutes later.
She’s now facing possible charges of first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
