
The Boone County Fire Protection District crews responded to a residential structure fire in the Settlers Ridge neighborhood Saturday night around 10 p.m.
Firefighters arrived to E. Steiner Glen Drive to discover smoke emerging from the garage of a single story home, according to a social media post from the fire protection district.
Residents were awakened by smoke alarms to the smell of smoke and they safely exited the home and then called 911.
Firefighters were able to limit fire damage to the garage area, and were able to rescue a dog from inside the house.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
