Those video games that have popped up inside a number of bars, restaurants and convenience stores across the state should soon be leaving those same establishments, A recent federal ruling declared those slot-style machines illegal.
The machines were becoming commonplace, but unlike casino gaming devices, they were not regulated by the Missouri Gaming Commission.
It will now be up to county prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to take action to have these removed. Many of the machines had really bad odds of winning, but state regulators had no jurisdiction over the machines. The Missouri Gaming Commission said it took hundreds of complaints a month, many about the machine not paying out when someone won a jackpot, but because they had no jurisdiction over the machines, their was little they could do.
