Jefferson City police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened around 4:18 Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of Broadway Street.
Police say they were patrolling the area when a man fled from officers.
Moments later, a 40-year-old man was shot.
Officers gave medical aid on scene before he was taken for treatment.
No officers were injured.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Jefferson City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are now handling the investigation.
A weapons offense in the area remains under active review.
