Search warrant nets three on drug charges

A Thursday afternoon search warrant by Columbia police on McKee Street, netted the arrest of three area residents on drug and other charges.

The biggest culprit was 39–year-old Clyde Jones Jr., who was charged with two counts of armed criminal action, two counts of unlawful use of weapon, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and the delivery of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, a Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy found a white substance scattered throughout a kitchen drawer, along with a digital scale covered in the same substance.

The substance, which tested positive for cocaine, weighed about 15 grams.

The search also yielded two firearms in the house.

Jones allegedly admitted that he sells cocaine, and buys half an ounce of cocaine to sell every week. According to the probable cause statement, he also led deputies to the guns and informed them he was not allowed to have them as a prior felon.

Jones is being held without bond.

Also arrested was 39-year-old Wilson Davis, and 25-year-old Dontrice Harris. Both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance. Their bond was set at $10,000.

All three were booked into Boone County Jail.
