A Columbia man arrested in 2024 for holding a woman against her will at a restaurant has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Police say 37-year-old Ricco Marshall pleaded guilty to assault, making a terrorist threat, and resisting arrest.
He’ll serve seven years for the assault and three more for the threat.
Investigators say the incident happened in September 2024, when Marshall demanded money while armed inside a Columbia restaurant.
Officers arrived as he was leaving.
Court documents say he went back inside, grabbed a woman by the neck, and used her as a shield.
Police tased him, and the woman was not injured.
