An early Saturday morning accident in Howard County claimed the life of a 28-year-old Fayette man. The one-vehicle crash happened at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Missouri Route 124, near County Road 103, east of Fayette.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2015 Dodge Journey westbound, when he drove off the right side of the road, came back and crossed the center line and then travelled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then went airborne, overturned and submerged in a creek.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
