A two-vehicle crash in Cooper County has killed a 71-year-old Pilot Grove woman. The accident happened at 10:34am this morning at Missouri 135, where it meets Route A and Route E,
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the accident happened when a 74-year-old Pilot Grove man, driving a 2014 Toyota Venza, stopped at an intersection and then began pulling through the intersection, when he was struck by a 2012 Ford F250 that had attempted to stop but slid through the intersection and struck the man’s vehicle in which the woman was a passenger. The 74-year-old man was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries.
The F250 was driven by a 32-year-old Pilot Grove man who was not injured.
After the two vehicles made impact, the first vehicle slid, left the road and struck a stop sign. The second vehicle slid and came to a controlled stop on Missouri 135, according to the crash report.
