Accident in Audrain County leaves one dead, two with serious Injuries

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one person was killed and two others were seriously hurt in a crash Wednesday evening in Audrain County.

Troopers report a 16-year-old boy from Mexico was driving a 1998 Chevrolet 1500 east on Highway 22 near Audrain Road 215 around 6:10 p.m. when his pickup ran off the road.

The teen overcorrected, crossed the center line, and hit a westbound 2014 Toyota Sienna.

The Sienna’s driver, a 36-year-old woman from Thompson, died at the scene.

Her 11-year-old passenger and the teen driver were both taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

Authorities say it’s Troop F’s fifth traffic fatality this month and the eleventh so far this year.
