Moberly High School is showing off its brand-new Spartan Fieldhouse a 20,000-square-foot athletic facility aimed at boosting student athletics and community involvement.
Construction started about a year and a half ago, and the Fieldhouse officially opened February 17.
The space can hold up to 1,600 people twice as many as the old gym and features large LED screens and multiple basketball goals for simultaneous games.
Activities Director Tony Vestal says the new gym allows for more flexibility, hosting everything from wrestling and youth basketball to JROTC practices.
Students and community members are already taking advantage of the new facility, now a central hub for Spartan sports and events.
