Multiple fire departments battled two natural cover fires Thursday afternoon in Cole County.
The Cole County Fire Protection District was called around 3 p.m. to a wooded area off Route E, where the Osage Fire District sent help with brush trucks and personnel.
About an hour later, another fire broke out near Penny Hollow Road.
Crews from Russellville-Lohman joined Cole County firefighters to contain that blaze, which took about two and a half hours to bring under control.
In all, three engines, two tankers, nine brush trucks, and more than 30 firefighters responded.
