A Columbia man is facing charges after police say he attacked someone with a chair and chased him with a knife.
Officers say 58-year-old Derrick Murphy was arrested Thursday following a violent confrontation at his home on March 19.
Court documents show the victim went to Murphy’s house to ask about $50 missing from his wallet. Investigators say Murphy struck the man with a chair, then grabbed a knife and chased him outside.
A witness provided doorbell video showing the incident.
Murphy is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $75,000 bond, charged with armed criminal action, third-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.
