Boone County Clerk’s Office to get remodel

A makeover for the Boone County Clerk’s Office is just around the corner. The project, with an expected cost of nearly $210,000, will enhance security for employees while at the same time improving customer service and adding a dedicated training room for election judges. That new space will also double as a multipurpose meeting room.

Boone County leaders met Thursday for a preliminary discussion on the makeover and other upcoming construction projects.

Weather delays has pushed back construction on the county’s $5 million public safety childcare center until early August. Work is underway on the 10,000 square-foot facility, with the hopes to open this fall.

Other work includes a new elevator inside the Boone County Government Center which will begin June 15.
