Columbia Woman Charged After 100 MPH Police Chase

An 18-year-old Columbia woman is facing charges after a late-night police chase that reached speeds near 100 miles per hour.

According to court documents, Jacquelynn Pruitt is charged with aggravated fleeing and careless and imprudent driving.

A deputy spotted her speeding on Scott Boulevard just before midnight Tuesday and attempted a traffic stop, but investigators say she accelerated and fled.

Authorities say Pruitt drove at high speeds, went the wrong way through two roundabouts, and later lost control on Country Woods Road crashing into a mailbox and driving through two yards before stopping near a home.

She was arrested and is being held without bond in the Boone County Jail.
