A Sedalia police officer and a suspect are recovering after a crash and officer-involved shooting Wednesday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, officers responded to a domestic violence call on South Garfield Avenue just before 10 a.m.
When they arrived, a man tried to flee in a pickup, leading officers on a short pursuit.
Troopers say the suspect reversed into a patrol vehicle at a stop sign, and an officer fired at the truck. The chase continued until the vehicle stopped near East 16th Street and South Arlington Avenue.
The suspect was taken into custody with a gunshot wound. Both he and the officer were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Highway Patrol is now investigating the shooting.
