Columbia Man Receives Murder Charge after Dumping Body in Perche Creek
A Columbia man accused of dumping a body in a creek had a murder charge added at his arraignment today.
53-year-old Andrew Acton is now charged with second degree murder after officers used surveillance footage to match his truck with one suspected in the case.
Acton is accused of dumping the corpse into Perche Creek in a trash can, and was arrested on May 18th.
Acton has already been charged with Abandonment Of A Corpse and Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution.
Court documents do not describe what led to the victim’s death, but say that she was strangled or smothered.
Acton is bring jailed without bond.
