Charges were dropped last week in a case involving an Audrain County man who was accused of murdering his brother.
Charges of Second Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon against Stephen Welch were dropped on Friday, but Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Shellabarger said that at this time he cannot comment as to why.
Stephen Welch was originally accused in the shooting killing his brother, Christopher Welch, in May of 2024.
