Jefferson City Parking Rates Increase
Parking rates in Jefferson City are set to increase after the City Council approved changes to parking fees and time limits Monday night.
Metered parking citywide will increase to one dollar an hour beginning in September, with higher rates planned for premium parking areas in 2030.
Council members also extended parking limits near the Missouri State Capitol and added Juneteenth as a free parking holiday.
The council also held a public forum for candidates seeking the vacant Third Ward seat and gave a first reading to a proposed public safety sales tax that could appear on the November ballot.
