IN MLB LAST NIGHT
The Kansas City Royals fell 11-1 to the Cleveland Guardians, missing out on a series sweep but still securing a successful road trip overall.
The Royals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but Cleveland quickly took control.
Seth Lugo struggled, allowing nine earned runs in just 3.2 innings, while the Guardians’ top hitters fueled an 11-1 blowout.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 5-4 to the Pittsburgh Pirates, dropping the rubber match and losing the three-game series at Busch Stadium.
The Cardinals fell behind early after two Pirates home runs put them in a 4-0 hole.
St. Louis battled back, cutting the deficit to 5-4 in the seventh behind RBI hits from Alec Burleson and Iván Herrera, but couldn’t finish the comeback.
Thomas Saggese had three hits and scored twice, while Matthew Liberatore struck out nine in the loss.
JJ Wetherholt was also placed on the 10-day injured list with right wrist tendinitis.
