Gerrymandered Map to be on November Ballot

The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously voted yesterday that Secretary of State Denny Hoskins put the map on the November ballot.

The Supreme Court’s ruling reversed a Cole County judge’s decision, who originally said that Missouri’s referendum powers do not apply to redistricting, but the Missouri Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the plain text in the Missouri Constitution does not support the Cole County Judge’s original conclusion.

The decision also stated that the congressional map redrawn by lawmakers last year cannot be used unless voters approve it at the ballot box in November.
