Lorton jailed in Owensville murder

One person is dead and three more were injured during a fight early Sunday morning in Gasconade County.

Owensville Police have arrested 36-year-old Henry Lorton of Owensville, and charged him with 2nd degree murder and three counts of
3 counts of Assault in the 1st Degree.

A fight began in a parking lot on north First Street, when a man with Lorton threw a beer bottle and struck a truck. Six men got out of the truck and a brawl ensued. During the course of the fight, Lorton claims he blacked out as he was being beaten and kicked by four men. According to the probable cause statement he awoke to find the four men running away from him.

However, he also told the witness, who drove home with him, that he thought he stabbed four people.

Investigators allegedly found clothing items with blood stains in his home, according to court records.

Lorton is currently being held on a no-bond warrant.
