Missouri men’s basketball guard C.J. Gunn successfully obtained a temporary restraining order against the NCAA that could make him eligible to play for the Tigers.

Gunn’s requested TRO was granted by Boone County judge Jeff Harris today following a two-hour plus court hearing on Tuesday. However, the temporary order will expire Oct. 24 — still more than a week before the start of basketball season — with a hearing for a permanent preliminary injunction scheduled for Oct. 23.

Meanwhile the hearing in Louisville, KY for MU forward Mark Mitchell’s eligibility case, along with 37 other athletes, lasted just under 4-1/2 hours today in front of Judge Brian Edwards. Missouri coach Dennis Gates testified for the players. No word yet on how long it will take Judge Edwards to rule in the case
