Public Hearings Set on Missouri American Water Rate Hikes

The Missouri Public Service Commission is holding public hearings on Missouri American Water Company’s request to increase water and sewer rates.

The company is seeking an increase that would generate about 192 million dollars in additional annual revenue.

The proposal could raise monthly water bills by about 15 dollars for customers outside St. Louis County and 23 dollars for those within the county.

Five in-person hearings and two virtual hearings are scheduled, including one in Jefferson City on December first at 6 p.m.

Customers who cannot attend can submit written comments online or by mail to the Public Service Commission
