Missouri men’s basketball began the day yesterday with some bad news. Freshman Aidan Chronister huty his non-shooting hand and will be out of the lineup for at least four weeks.
They then began the 2026-27 campaign showing that loss wasn’t a roadblock to early season success, as the Tigers dominated in a 111-50 rout of Cleveland State.
Jason Crowe Jr. led Missouri with 23 points, while Kennard Davis. Jr. chipped in 19, to lead seven Tigers in double digits. They included Toni Bryant with 15, Jamier Jones added 13 pints, while Trent Pierce had 11 and Mark Mitchell notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists. Bryson Tiller just missed out on one with 10 points and nine rebounds.
The road gets significantly harder this Friday against St. Louis University.

Meanwhile yesterday was a busy day for the St. Louis Cardinals as they released 10 minor league players including pitchers Tink Hence, Zack Thompson and Sem Robberse. All three had trouble staying healthy the last few years.
The Cards also traded for 6-7″ left-hander Eduardo Rivera from Boston.
To acquire Rivera, who pitched 10 innings in the majors this past season, the Cardinals sent Boston 18-year-old right-hander Juan Garcia.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Blues failed again to win their third straight game of the year, losing last night 3-1 to the New York Rangers.
The Blues squandered their third chance this season for three straight wins, and fell back to a 7-7-1 record.
