It has been just over one year since a murder and manhunt in New Florence rocked the community.
On March 7, 2016, 49 year old Randy Nordman was shot and killed in the driveway of his home in the 400 block of Tree Farm Road after a struggle over a rifle with Pablo Serrano-Viterino.
Serrano-Viterino was also suspected in the murders of 4 men in Kansas City, Kansas.
A manhunt lasting nearly 15 hours ensued, involving more than 60 state troopers, Police and Sheriff from multiple counties, 2 helicopters and K9 units.
Serrano-Viterino was captured at 12:18 AM on March 8, 2016 in what Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Scott White called “one of the most dangerous incidents in recent history.”
On Tuesday, one year to the day from when Nordman was killed, a trial date was set for Serrano-Viterino for October 1, 2018.
