Traffic was slowed through Mexico yesterday when a loaded tractor trailer caught fire at the intersection of Monroe and Western.
Mexico Public Safety reports personnel found the truck, driven by Dan Swiney of Centralia, with smoke and heat coming from the left rear set of trailer tires.
Swiney said he was delivering product to ADM when he lost air pressure and the brakes seized. He extinguished the flame with a fire extinguisher prior to MPSD arrival.
Traffic was directed through the area until repairs could be made the tractor trailer.
No injuries were reported.
