A measure that would oversee the sales of tickets to big events in the state is moving through legislature.
The proposal would ban the use of software to make purchases, requiring retailers to offer transferable tickets for all seats.
The bill prohibits the use of “bots” which buy all tickets to an event, that are then sold at inflated prices. Bots use algorithms to bypass online security measures.
Similar legislation is also being pushed through governments overseas, in the United Kingdom and Australia.
