Callaway Manhunt

One person is in custody after a manhunt this morning near Kingdom City.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the 6700 block of Old Highway 40, just east of Kingdom City after a person was witnessed attempting to break into a business structure around 7:20 this morning.

As they deputies approached, the suspect, identified as David Schuenemeyer fled on foot through fields and woods. A perimeter was set up and K9 units were brought in to track him. He was found in the perimeter area and arrested without incident. North Callaway High School and the T-Bird Early Learning Center were notified, and initiated lock out protocol from 8:00 to 8:30.

Schuenemeyer is being held in the Callaway County Jail on suspicion of 2nd degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest and property damage.
