The University of Missouri has referred a case of possible misappropriation of funds by a former staff member to the MU police Department for investigation.
In a statement, Interim Chancellor Garnett Stokes says the misappropriation is from student organization accounts affiliated with Greek Life, and are not University accounts.
A new policy has been put in place that anyone with access to external accounts must now have approval from their supervisor for all expenditures.
The University will encourage prosecution to the fullest extent possible if MUPD determines a crime has occurred.
