The Mexico Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams opened their season last (Tuesday) night at home against the Boonville Pirates.
In the first game the Mexico Bulldogs girls lost 64-55.
Logan Blevins led Mexico with 15 points, while Adria Costley threw down 14.
The Bulldogs were outscored in 3 out of 4 quarters.
The second game was a win for the Mexico Bulldogs Boys team over the Boonville Pirates 60-46.
First year head Coach Darrin Pappas got his first win.
The Bulldogs defense held the Pirates to single digits in three out of the four quarters played.
The Bulldogs will next play at the Norm Stewart Classic this Sunday.
The boys play at 4am, and then the girls at 6am both games are against the California Pintos.
In other high school boys basketball last night the Community R-6 boys team defeated Prairie Home 64-58. Moberly over Southern Boone 62-52.
The Fulton Hornets with a 40 points victory 86-26 over Wellsville.
Montgomery County 70 Silex 38. New Bloomfield got into triple digits with a 109-48 win over Lamonte.
Centralia bested North Callaway on the road 65-58.
Hallsville took it to Sturgeon 95-53.
On the girls side it was Jefferson City losing to Kickapoo 61-56, Camdenton edging out Helias 55-52.
North Callaway with a 10 point win 64-54 against Centralia.
Westminster Christian 40 Hickman 31, and Marshall defeated Eldon 74-60.
