Columbia Police are continuing to investigate a domestic disturbance that resulted in a woman with a gunshot wound early this (Wednesday) morning.
According to police a woman was shot in the 1500 block of Fir Place after a domestic disturbance.
Police say the 30 year old woman left the residence and contacted them claiming she was shot in the foot by a male who she was in a relationship with.
Officers then attempted to make contact with the man by phone and at the residence. Police went in to the home and did not locate the man.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
