A nine month old child is in protective custody and a Mexico man and woman have been arrested for multiple charges yesterday (Thursday).
According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department they assisted other law enforcement in a search at 22123 Audrain County Road 9318. During the search officers report seizing marijuana, THC wax, and drug paraphernalia.
The officers say nine month old male child was living at the residence and evidence was discovered that indicated the child was being abused by shaking.
Officers arrested 22 year old April Benson and 57 year old Joe Allison.
The child was removed from the residence.
An investigation is continuing.
