KXEO Sports Report 3/2/18- Mexico Girls Going for District Title, Huffman Signs Letter of Intent

The Mexico Bulldogs Girls Basketball team is going for a district championship tonight (Friday) against the St. Dominic Crusaders.

The Lady Dogs lost to St. Dominic last year in districts by one point at the buzzer.

Mexico Girls Head Coach Ed Costley says Logan Blevins has been a key factor in their two tournament wins this week as her energy level has stepped up.

Tip off is at 6 and will be carried live.

A Mexico High School standout football player has signed his letter of intent to play college football.

Mathew Huffman will play wide receiver at Westminster College in Fulton.
The signing took place at the Mexico High School Sports Complex yesterday(Thursday) afternoon.

The Missouri Tigers Women’s Basketball team is on their way to the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals after defeating Ole Miss 59-50 last (Thursday) night.

The Tiger advanced behind 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists from sophomore guard Amber Smith.

Junior Sophie Cunningham added 11 points.

The 6th seeded Tigers take on the 3 seed Georgia Bulldogs tonight (Friday) with estimated tip off at 8:30.

 

The St. Louis Cardinals and the Minnesota Twins ended up in a 3-3 tie in spring training this (Thursday) afternoon.

Adam Wainwright pitched two innings striking out 3 and walking 3.

The Redbirds and the Boston Red Sox face off tomorrow (Friday) at 12:05.
