The South Callaway School District will be adding a school resource officer at the beginning of the next school year.
Callaway County Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungerman says it has been an ongoing project since last summer.
Jungerman says the officer will be provided by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and the county will split the cost with school district.
Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism says it has not yet been determined who will fill the position.
Kevin Hillman Superintendent of the South Callaway County School District says the officer will spend time in every school through out the day.
The School resource officer will start in August at the beginning of the next school year.
