A Centralia man is in the Boone County Jail after being taken into custody for an alleged domestic assault.
John Hinten is accused of slamming a woman’s head into a door numerous times.
He also allegedly was in possession of methmaphetamine at the time of his arrest.
He is being held on a 15 thousand dollar bond.
The Jefferson City Council is approving funding for some new fire trucks. The council gave unanimous support to provide 4.7 million dollars for 7 new trucks. The decision was made at last (Monday) nights council meeting. The fire department is buying the trucks in bulk which will save approximately 15 percent off the total cost.
