KXEO Sports Report for 4/3/18: Cardinals Pitcher Miles Mikolas Triumph Return to Majors, Villanova National Champs

The Villanova Wildcats are the NCAA’s men’s basketball national champions after defeating Michigan 79-62 last (Monday) night.

The Wildcats shot 47 percent from three point range hitting 10 of 27 shots.

Nova’s Donte DiVincenzo scored a career high 31 points and won the most outstanding player of the Final Four.


The St. Louis Cardinals picked up their second win in a row and handed the Milwaukee Brewers their first defeat of the season winning by a score of 8-4 yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

Redbirds Pitcher Miles Mikolas who made his first big league start in two years came back with a bang.

He struck out five with no walks in 5 and 2/3 innings, and helped his cause with a two run home run.

The Cardinals evened their record at 2-2.


The Kansas City Royals are still winless on the season losing to the Chicago White Sox 6-1 yesterday (Monday) on the road.


The St. Louis Blues lost 4-2 to the Washington Capitals.

Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrik Berglund scored goals for the Blues. St. Louis remain one point behind Colorado for the second and final wild card spot in the Western Conference.

The Avalanche lost 3-1 to the Los Angles Kings.

Only three games remain in the regular season.

The game scheduled for Missouri Tigers Baseball team and Missouri State College at Busch Stadium today (Tuesday) has been canceled.

The inclement weather forecast and field conditions and safety concerns for the players were contributing factors in the cancellation.

The game has not been rescheduled at this time.
