Mid-County Fire Investigates Intentional Cover Fires

The Mid-County Fire Protection District is investigating 2 natural cover fires that were apparently intentionally set last night. [Thursday]

Crews were dispatched at around 7:40 to a natural cover fire behind the Camdenton Wal-Mart on Highway 54. Approximately 3 acres of land were on fire and rapidly spreading. Crews cleared the scene at 9:20.

At around 10:30, firefighters were called to a second fire in the area of Cross Creek Drive. They found another 3 acres on fire, down the road from the first fire. High winds were causing the blaze to spread.

Anyone with information regarding these fires should contact the Mid-County Fire Protection District.
