Truckers across the country are stopping and shutting down their trucks in protest of the U.S. House of Representatives passing HR4 on Thursday.
HR4 was originally penned to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration for 5 years. Truck drivers are concerned about Amendment 79, which would require motor carriers to only have to pay drivers on a per mile basis, and eliminates pay for things such as paperwork, safety inspections or loading and unloading their trailers.
Brent Sampson of Bowling Green, who went on strike yesterday [Sunday], says he will lose nearly 31 thousand dollars of his salary if this bill passes.
Multiple trucks are currently shut down in Kingdom City.
