The Columbia Police Department arrested a teacher after it was reported he had sexual contact with a 17 year old student between September and December of 2017.
Police responded to Rock Bridge High School on May 4 to take the report. The student was enrolled in a class taught by 30 year old Sean Diestel at the Columbia Area Career Center.
The sexual contact allegedly occurred in the 6000 block of Gateway Boulevard and the 1800 block of East Point Drive.
Diestel was arrested today. [Thursday]
Michelle Baumstark, with Columbia Public Schools reports Diestel has been with the district since 2015, and is currently on administrative leave.
