The man shot early this (Wednesday) morning in Jefferson is being identified by police as 26 year old Bernard Hoffman.
The department says he suffered a single, non-life threatening gunshot wound in the 100 block of Boonville Road.
Investigators say Hoffman is a Cole County resident and is not cooperating, and there is no suspect information at this time.
Authorities believe that there is no cause for public fear.
